What is LAMDA?
LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) is one of the top UK Drama Schools. Our LAMDA classes exams are designed to develop your life skills, such as clear communication, self-confidence and teamwork, through the creative platforms of drama, literature and music. Classes also offer you opportunity to improve self-expression, strengthen memory and, most importantly, have fun!
Our classes are taught by specialist LAMDA qualified teachers who will individually guide each student to select the particular grade they would like to work towards. They’ll do a mixture of group and ono on one study within the class along with some practising at home.
LAMDA exams count towards the Duke of Edinburgh Award, some exams earn you UCAS points and every learner receives a certificate for a passed exam.
This class not only prepares students for LAMDA graded examinations, it is a creative drama class teaching core performance techniques through text, scripts and poetry.
This class develops skills including:
Public speaking
Engaging an audience
Character interpretation
Script analysis
Improvisation
Devising
Students will normally take one graded examination per year but your child can join class at any time.
Exams take place at the LAMDA Headquarters in Hammersmith, and typically will involve performing one set piece and one own choice script before answering some questions related to the performance. There is a extra small feee for each exam taken to cover LAMDA’s examination costs.
