Our Saturday School offers a full morning of dance, drama and singing. A great way to develop skills, have fun and make friends.
While we recommend you book for all three sessions, your child must take classes in at least two out of the three disciplines.
Dance:
This class includes stretches, exercises and learning dance routines to music from the shows and the latest hits. Warm-ups, floor work, stretching and toning are all part of the fun.
This class develops skills including:
Posture
Rhythm
Confidence
Creativity
Mental ability
Learning and creating choreography
Drama:
Drama focuses on confidence building, public speaking, sharing ideas and team work.
This class develops skills including:
Voice and breath work
Drama games & exercises
Basic script reading and learning
Improvising and working on devised scenes
Stagecraft
Singing:
Classes include vocal games, warm-up exercises and group singing. Songs range from ballads to fast, fun numbers including those from the shows.
This class develops skills including:
Pitch
Rhythm
Vocal harmony
Tone
Accents
Breath control
Reading, learning and memorising words
Solo and group work
All classes also include an end of term performance for family to come and applaud their child’s progress. Students can participate in performances at shows and events throughout the year. This includes Montage performances and also external events.
Past external performances include Music for Youth and Nucleo (Southbank Centre), Lewisham People’s Day, Lewisham Dance Schools Showcase (Broadway Theatre, Catford), Blackheath Halls, Horniman Museum, Brockley Max, Horniman Christmas Fair and many more.
