WE ARE MOVING!!
The biggest news we have to share with you is that we are moving where we hold our classes! All classes from Brockley Primary School will be moved to Prendergast (the school on top of Hilly Fields) from September 16th. This is a fantastic opportunity for us to work in an accessible, inspirational setting with brilliant facilities including brand new music rooms.
AND WE’RE EXPANDING!! We are also opening a completely new Saturday Programme at Crossways Academy in Sprules Road, Brockley which, as those of you who know the building are aware, has beautiful specifically built rooms for the performing arts including a dance studio with sprung floor and mirrors, drama room and hall/performance space with raked seating!
As well as our usual huge range of weekly classes,
here are some exciting additions!
New Courses for the New Year:
Youth Musical Dance Company for 7 – 14 years
This class is designed as a performance course for those young people interested in taking dance to all the events through the year which this last year included SCOOP, ROAR at Sadlers Wells, Lewisham People’s Day and London Youth Games.
Saturday Ballet for 3 – 5 years at Crossways
Tuesday Drama for 3 – 5 years:
Our first weekday drama class for littlies!
Dance for Fitness for Adults: It’s what you wanted! Get fit,
have fun and dance! For beginners and improvers alike.
Street Jazz/Hip Hop with Carla for 16 – 23 years!

Montage at Sadler’s Wells! A huge congratulations to our Friday Street Jazz group who were selected to perform in London Dance Network’s ROAR event at Sadler’s Wells Theatre along with other London-wide dance organisations. The night was fantastic and our dancers, aged 12
to 15 years were a joy to watch in such a prestigious theatre.
Well done!
Montage’s annual ‘My Turn’ event At the end of the spring term, students, staff, parents and friends watched a medley of dances, songs and sketches which students aged 6 – 16 years had created and performed themselves.
It was a wonderful morning of work, showcasing the talent and commitment of our own young choreographers and writers of song and dance. Fantastic!
Montage at London Youth Games
Once again the Breakdancing group wowed everyone with their dance routine and individual tricks ad thoroughly enjoyed Kiki’s
and Sean’s ‘freestyle’. Well done all!
Montage Youth Theatre Company
Once again, a year’s hard work paid off as our truly inspiring youth group performed a full-length play in June ’08 with huge roles
and a real understanding of their characters and the journey made to a devastating end.
Peter Pan
Our biggest fundraiser yet in February ’08 with the whole school taking part in a full-length production of Peter Pan, written by our own Susan Edwards. Thank you to all those who took part with all Tinkerbell’s ballet friends, pirates and cabin boys and of course those street dancing crocodiles. And a huge thank you to all the Montage parents for supporting us all too. A wonderful show!
Fundraising
Could you set up a fundraising committee with parents for Montage? If you have any ideas (small or big) for fundraising and/or organising events or would like to offer any skills
to the company, Montage would be very grateful to hear from you.
If you value our work, we need support to keep the opportunities
we wish to offer running. As a charity, we apply for funding from government grants and trusts so we can provide the best teaching and run the wonderful classes, courses and performance events
that we do. But we also rely on the generosity of volunteers as class assistants and running stalls etc. The company can always
use help with marketing, administration, IT – and of course, FUNDRAISING! So we would welcome any suggestions from
parents – do just give us a call or email us.
